Principal Investigator
Dr. Kartik Rajagopalan is a physician-scientist in the Department of Internal Medicine and Division of Pulmonary and Critical-care at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He completed his MD and PhD degrees at UT Southwestern in 2016 where he studied metabolic fluxes during cell proliferation in the lab of Dr. Ralph DeBerardinis. Kartik then went to Columbia University in New York for Internal Medicine Residency and Pulmonary and Critical-care Fellowship and performed post-doctoral work understanding the role of leptin signaling during influenza and COVID infection in the lab of Dr. Jeffrey Friedman at Rockefeller University. He was then recruited back to UT Southwestern to start a faculty position and laboratory in September of 2023. When not in the laboratory, Kartik continues to practice medicine as an intensivist.
